Penelope Johns-Thompsen serves as a Trust Officer for The Chicago Trust Company and has been in the financial industry for over 30 years. Penny began her career with Harris Bank in 1985 as a Trust Officer and has held various other bank positions throughout her career. Penny enjoys working with colleagues to provide clients with solutions regarding estate planning, personal trust accounts, guardianships, planned giving, and overall wealth management.

Penny obtained her Associate’s Degree from McHenry County College and finished her undergraduate and master’s degrees in Managerial Leadership from National Louis University in Evanston, Illinois. Penny is a Charter member of the Rotary Club of Crystal Lake Dawnbreakers and has held many leadership positions within Rotary including President. She also volunteers with numerous charities in McHenry County. Penny has also served as an instructor for the Illinois Bankers Association for over 20 years, teaching seminars in advanced land trust administration, IRS 1031 exchange administration, and business etiquette. Penny lives in McHenry, Illinois with her husband, George. She enjoys spending her spare time with her family and retreating to the Northwoods of Wisconsin.
