John Simonds is a Senior Vice President, Trust Officer, and Team Lead with Wintrust Private Trust Company. John serves clients in Grand Rapids, Holland, and throughout Michigan. He brings over 40 years of wealth management, trust, estate planning, and fiduciary expertise to the role.
John joined Macatawa Bank (now Wintrust) in 2011. Prior to joining the bank, he spent 17 years at J.P. Morgan and 10 years at First of America, serving in a variety of roles providing financial planning and administration of trusts, estates, IRA’s, trust real estate, bank ORE property management, and participant education for qualified plans.
John is a graduate of Western Michigan University, earning a BBA in finance, as well as a graduate of Cannon Financial Institute Advanced Administration of Estates and Trusts School. He is a member of the West Michigan Estate Planning Council and a Certified Financial Planner™.
John is married with four adult children and three grandchildren. He is active in his church, serving on the Pastoral & Building Committees as well as Audio Visual Ministry. John is an Eagle Scout, former USSF certified referee, and youth soccer coach.
